An Unfinished Book

About five years ago, I had an idea for a book that, at the time, I had never seen: a witchy ABCs book. A book geared less to learning the letters of the alphabet, and more on learning about being a witch. I was learning Procreate, and giving myself this project was a great way to hone my digital drawing skills. I worked feverishly, writing out the text of the book and finishing 11 full color pages while parenting during the pandemic and working a full-time job. I loved the idea, but I burnt myself out a bit, and I didn’t know what to do with what I had, so I shelved it.

A few days ago, I pulled up all of the artwork I did, and the text in my notes app, and somehow, I liked it again! I do think this project has potential, and so I plan to finish a dummy pitch of this book. In one day, I completed most of the remaining pages as simple, black and white sketches. I’m posting this now to hold myself accountable! Maybe this will never go anywhere besides into a PDF, but I will see this project through.
